Bangladesh's Regent Airways flies direct to Saudi Arabia

Bangladesh's Regent Airways has launched the first direct flight between Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and its operational hub, Dhaka, said a report.

The new route, which is the result of an alliance between the airline and Riyadh Travel and Tourism Agency, will initially see three direct flights per week operate from King Fahd Airport in Dammam to Dhaka, said a report in Saudi Gazette.

In the near future, the number of flights is expected to increase, moving to a daily service, said Mansour Al Qahtani, chairman of Riyadh Travel and Tourism Company.

The route will be operated by Boeing737 aircraft and Bombardier Dash8 Q300 aircraft, the report said.

According to the schedule, the flight will depart from Dhaka at 9:15 pm and reach Dammam at 12:50 am while return flight will leave Dammam at 1:50 am and reach Dhaka at 9:45 am. All departure and arrivals are in local time.

Furthermore, the airline is preparing to fly to Jeddah, Madinah, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain in the coming months, it said.
