SCE's chief receives US ambassador

Saudi Arabia, March 7, 2018

Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Dr. Mohamed Mubarak bin Daina, received here today the newly-appointed U.S Ambassador to Bahrain, Justin Hicks Siberell.

Dr. Bin Daina congratulated Justin Siberell on his appointment to his post, and wished him every success in strengthening the solid relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples.

The SCE’s chief lauded the role played by the U.S in the global environment field, and welcomed cooperation and coordination between the countries on preserving local and world environment.

Ambassador Siberell congratulated Dr. Bin Daina on the opening of the National Refrigerants Reclamation Facility.

He also praised the SCE’s hosting of the Bahrain-US Joint Forum on Environmental Cooperation, a meeting that will contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of environment, he said.

He also lauded the remarkable progress made by Bahrain regarding environment protection and sustainable development.

It is worth noting that the Bahrain-US Joint Forum on Environmental Cooperation, due to be held tomorrow at the Bahrain National Museum, aims to develop a work plan for the Memorandum of Understanding on Environmental Cooperation stipulated by the Free Trade Agreement signed between the two countries.

The representatives of the competent sides in the two countries, as well as representatives of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry will take part in the joint meeting.
