Labor ministry nationalizes five retail jobs

Saudi Arabia, January 7, 2019

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has announced the nationalization of jobs at medical equipment and devices, building materials, care spare parts, carpets and rugs and confectionary stores as from tomorrow Monday Jan.7.
The ministry has issued a decree to limit twelve retail jobs to Saudi nationals only to provide citizens with more job opportunities in the private sector.
The retail jobs which have been limited to Saudi nationals include: watches, eyewear, medical equipment and devices, electrical and electronic appliances, car spare parts, building materials, carpets and rugs, cars and motorcycles, home and office furniture, children's and men's clothing, home appliances and confectioneries.
Jobs at car and motorcycles shops, men’s and children’s clothing, home and office furniture, and home appliances have been nationalized on September 11, 2018.
