Saudi Arabia's airport taxis set to go green

Saudi Arabia, October 21, 2019

Saudi Arabia’s airport taxis have gone green.

According to Ibrahim Al-Ruassa, spokesman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), the colour has been chosen for taxis which will serve all airports in the kingdom.

The taxi venture, which is a collaboration between the GACA and the Public Transport Authority (PTA), is to be offered to public tender.

Photos of the taxis at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah were posted on social media, although the Saudi Gazette stressed these were for “experimental purposes” and full details of the project would be revealed following completion of the tender process.

Further agreements and memorandum of understanding (MoU) have been signed with Jeddah Metro and the Saudi Arabia Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) in a bid to improve passenger transport.
